
ABOUT
Daniel Assetta is a New York City–based actor and performer currently appearing on Broadway in & Juliet, where he plays ‘Henry’ and regularly performs the role of ‘Shakespeare’ (100+ performances).
His recent U.S. work includes the Broadway-bound North American premiere of 42 Balloons at Chicago Shakespeare Theater, The Light in the Piazza with New York City Center Encores! and West Side Story at The Muny.
Originally from Sydney, Australia, Daniel has built an extensive international career performing leading roles across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and Europe. He earned critical acclaim as ‘Tony’ in West Side Story, notably at the Sydney Opera House and Berlin Opera House, originated ‘Samuel Seabury’ in the Australian company of Hamilton, where he also performed ‘King George III’, the ‘Rum Tum Tugger’ in the Australian national tour of CATS, and the original Australian companies of The Book of Mormon and Wicked.
A sought-after concert performer, Daniel has appeared at Carnegie Hall and Feinstein’s/54 Below, with televised performances including the ARIA Awards and Carols by Candlelight. His solo work includes The Road from Oz in New York and the award-winning cabaret Siblingship across Australia. He is a recipient of the Rob Guest Endowment Award and the Playbill Future Prospect Award.
