Daniel Assetta currently stars in the smash-hit Broadway musical "& Juliet" at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre, where he made his highly anticipated Broadway debut as Henry on January 30, 2024.

A high-energy "jukebox musical" of Max Martin's greatest hits, the production flips the script on Shakespeare’s classic tragedy, imagining what would happen if Juliet chose her own destiny instead of a tragic end. The show has become a critical phenomenon, earning nine Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical.

Daniel has since also regularly performed and had extended stints in the role of William Shakespeare, reaching a milestone of over 120 performances in the leading role.

His portrayal of the legendary playwright offers a fresh, high-octane energy to the show's meta-narrative, balancing the comedic friction of Shakespeare’s marriage to Anne Hathaway (Tony nominee, Betsy Wolfe & currently, Alison Luff) with the vocal demands of a true pop star.

Daniel’s Shakespeare is a vocal powerhouse, leading the company through massive Max Martin anthems like "Larger Than Life" and "It's My Life" which he has led the company in performances at Broadway in Bryant Park.

Daniel’s work with the production has extended to major national media appearances, including performances on Good Morning America and The Drew Barrymore Show. He was also featured in People Magazine for his participation in special mini-concert events, where he performed alongside pop royalty like JC Chasez and Joey Fatone.
